Nike Wildhorse 7 | More cushioned than the Terra Kiger 7 and Pegasus Trail 3

  1. To all the people who say this shoe is unstable… Your fat go get another shoe. One of the most comfortable and perfect rides out of a trail shoe I've ever had. Hundreds of miles on these. Like I said. If you are overweight don't get them.

  2. Official specs on lists a "segmented rock plate". Is this true? Copy pasted below:

Take on those tough and extreme trail runs with the rugged build of the Nike Wildhorse 7. The upper delivers durable ventilation with support where you need it. Foam midsole cushioning provides responsiveness on every mile.

    Responsive Cushioning

Nike React foam offers a soft, smooth ride that adds a little spring to your step. Extra cushioning around the heel helps keep your foot secure.

    Breathable Durability

Mesh throughout the upper helps keep your foot ventilated and cool. Skins on the toe deliver durability for tough terrain.

    Multi-Surface Traction

Multi-directional traction lugs on the outsole are made from high-abrasion rubber. They help provide enhanced grip on descents and ascents.

    Keep Dirt Away

A gaiter collar around the ankle hugs your foot and helps keep dirt and debris out.

    More Benefits

A Dynamic Fit System through the midfoot helps hug and support your foot as you run through rocky trails.

Segmented rock plate helps shield your foot on rough terrain.

Utility tab at the back for easy on and off.

  3. The WH6 (and the 7 is yeah a color update) was a disaster, with horribly unstable rear — pretty much an ankle-breaker if you land even slightly off-center on a rock — unusable on even mildly technical terrain. The heel nubs insist on hitting the opposite ankle; and to top it off the heaviest of any Wildhorse to date. This shoe needs drastic changes before I'd consider buying it again; Nike should consider going to a 6mm drop and redesigning the mid&outsole with an emphasis on heel and mid-foot stability and dropping at least an ounce. Oh and ditch the edgy nubs.

  4. I wish they would have fixed the rounded heel. I loved this shoe for about 100 miles, but then it just got too unstable. Love that they changed the upper. Humid, summer months made this thing miserable and made the insole scrunch up when descending. The midsole is sooo comfortable though. Ughhh so torn on giving it another chance….I probably will 🤣
